Overview
You can retrieve a document when you know its citation. Use this template to enter the citation in the correct format.
  1. Identify the specific template for your citation. To view templates for a specific jurisdiction, select an option from the drop-down list and click GO.

    Ex. Under Federal Cases, the format with the abbreviation S. Ct. represents U.S. Supreme Court cases.

  2. For cases, type the volume number and page number in the text boxes surrounding the abbreviation. For statutes, type the citation information (e.g., title number, section number, chapter number) in the text box(es) next to the abbreviation.

    Ex. Type 106 S. Ct. 2399.

  3. Click GO.
